MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A Lake County minister is in trouble with the law for allegedly posing as a physician in order to illegally obtain prescription painkillers.David Reed is the pastor of the Chapel United Methodist church in Madison Township, and is now facing identity fraud and drug charges as a result of his painkiller addiction, NewsChannel5 reported.Narcotics investigators say Reed posed as his former doctor, and used information stolen from the physician's office to call in prescriptions for Darvocet at a local pharmacy.Investigators say Reed was able to fill the subscription four times before the pharmacy became suspicious.Reed confessed fully to police, and investigators say the minister is being cooperative. He didn't distribute any of the prescription drugs to others, police said.Reed is scheduled to make another court appearance next month. He said that the addiction to painkillers stems from chronic abdominal pain.
