KENT, Ohio -- Most 8-year-old girls are playing with Barbies, not writing up a business plan. But one pint-sized Summit County entrepreneur is hoping to take the Internet by storm with a new business, reported 5 On Your Side's Brad Harvey.Alexandra McDaniel is interested in all the typical 8-year-old things, but she also has a web-based business.About a year ago, she decided she wanted a pony, but selling small change stuff like pens and pencils wasn't getting the job done.So she started Kidsroar.biz, an Internet company for kids, where kids can choose different clubs."There's, right now, actually four on the Web site., but we have more. There's horse club, marine club, safari club and best friends club," said McDaniel.Kids, or more likely, their parents, can buy them items to decorate their rooms or pet areas. This is a real business in every sense of the word. She has business cards, and there is an upcoming meeting of the board of directors, which consists of kids between the ages of 8 and 12.Adults will handle the daily operations, but kids will have control of the company and will oversee designing products, which the company will eventually manufacture itself.McDaniel is already scheduled to attend the upcoming Ohio Business Women's Conference at the Cleveland Renaissance.
