BAINBRIDGE, Ohio -- A fire destroyed a popular restaurant in Geauga County early Friday morning.Firefighters from Bainbridge and Chagrin Falls battled a blaze at the Timber Fire Restaurant on East Washington Street in Bainbridge.Flames errupted at the restaurant just before 5 a.m. But by time crews arrived it was already too late to save the restaurant."Upon arrival we found the restaurant fully involved and we called in nine additional departments," said Bainbridge Assistant Chief Wayne Burge. The restaurant, modeled on a log cabin, was made almost completely of wood. The unique style helped make the restaurant a success, but also made it impossible to save."It was all open inside and because of that and the type of construction and materials, it spread so fast," said Burge. No on was hurt in the blaze. The restaurant employed nearly 75 people. Its architect is former Browns' quarterback Brian Sipe, and the owners are the tribe-affiliated Dolans. The cause is still under investigation.
