Council Passes No-Feed Law To Control Deer

POSTED: 10:17 am EST December 20, 2005

City Council voted Monday to ban people from feeding deer, NewsChannel5 reported.

Many people turned out to provide comment, saying if the law passed they would either keep feeding the deer or move.

The feeding ban would only be in effect for the 60-day time period before and during what’s called a culling period when sharpshooters are brought in to thin the deer population.

The next culling period takes place between January and March with a maximum of 600 deer to be killed.
