Guilty Verdict Reached In Case Shooting

CLEVELAND -- The jury took 11 hours to reach a guilty verdict Friday in the Case Western Reserve University shooting case, NewsChannel5 reported.Biswanath Halder, 65, went on a seven-hour shooting rampage at Case Western Reserve University in May 2003. Case student Norman Wallace was killed and two others were injured.Halder, originally from Calcutta, India, was convicted of aggravated murder. WEWS reported Halder showed little emotion as the guilty verdicts piled up against him. He seemingly started to pray.Halder could be sentenced to death for the murder charge.Halder had been originally charged with 196 felony counts stemming from the shooting, when he entered the business school with more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition because he believed an employee hacked into his Web site.In court Wednesday, the counts against Halder were reduced from 338 to 196. The judge also dropped the terrorism charges against Halder.
