Local Ford Plant Will Close Today
Last Econoline To Be Produced Wednesday

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio -- The last Ford Econoline will roll off the assembly line Wednesday, NewsChannel5 reported.The Lorain Ford plant opened nearly 50 years ago.At the height of operation, about 1,700 people worked at the plant, WEWS reported.About 800 workers are being transferred to the Avon Lake Ohio Assembly Plant.Ford plans to start layoffs nationwide in January and more plants are expected to close.
