Organization Says Animals, Humans May Be In Danger

NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is offering a $2,500 reward to information leading to the person responsible for shooting a family pet three times with an air rifle.A 4-year-old basset hound named Cledus was shot on June 12. He died of his injuries in late August.PETA believes that other animals in the area and even humans may be in danger as long as the person responsible for this crime is at large, according to a news release."Animal abusers are cowards," said PETA Cruelty Caseworker Kristin DeJournett. “They take their issues out on the most defenseless beings available to them. Cuyahoga County residents have reason to be concerned.Anyone with information should contact North Royalton police at (440) 237-8686.
