After pleading no contest, Randly Cutlip received an $800 fine for hitting Officer Ryan Nagy with his pickup truck on Interstate 71.

Nagy was on the side of the highway for a traffic stop when Cutlip plowed into him. Nagy was critically injured and had to have a leg amputated.

The fine Cutlip received is the maximum sentence for the misdemeanor charges, which include duties upon approaching a public service vehicle, failure to control, and driving in continuous lanes.

Cutlip had blacked out at the time of the accident, so there was no criminal intent.

During the sentencing, the judge told Cutlip that he wished he could order him to call Nagy every day and tell him how sorry he was.

Nagy spent almost two months in a hospital before being released in June. He has filed a civil suit against Cutlip.
