Couple Accused Of Keeping 11 Adopted Children In Cages

CLARKSVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- The state is stepping in to the investigation of 11 Huron County children who were allegedly forced by their adoptive parents to sleep in cages.The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is launching a review of the Huron County Department of Job and Family Services, which is handling of the case.Sharen and Michael Gravelle, of Clarksville Township, are accused of locking their 11 adopted special-needs children in cages at night, and making them stay in the cages during the day as punishment.The state will be looking at the files of every agency, public and private, involved in the adoptions of the children.The director of Huron County's Department of Job and Family Services was unavailable for comment.The Gravelles have not yet been charged. A Huron County grand jury will likely hear testimony on Sept. 30, at which they will decide if charges will be brought against the couple.
