LORAIN, Ohio -- It was a stunt motorcycle show that was said to have inspired Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. the day he crashed his motorcycle, NewsChannel5 reported. For the first time since his crash in May, Akron's nationally recognized StarBoyz put on a stunt show at the Lorain Speedway Saturday. The motorcycle team, once a thorn to police, have become a thrill to promoters, especially after the Winslow accident, 5 On Your Side reporter John Kosich said. Images: StarBoyz Perform "It heightened their recognition and made a lot of people want to see actually what the buzz was all about. That's why we're excited to have them here," said Tom Kurtz, Lorain Speedway spokesman. After seeing a similar show, Winslow returned to a Westlake parking lot where his accident occured, putting him out of commission and the StarBoyz in the national spotlight, Kosich reported. The accident is still talked about, according to StarBoyz co-founder Scott Caraboolad."A few people out of state still come up and say what happened and this and that," he said. The stunt team shows that there are potentially severe consequences for a novice rider."Out of anything, it just kind of increased the awareness of the public on how easy it is to get hurt on these things," Caraboolad said. "Until a superstar gets hurt it kind of just goes without anybody hearing about it."The StarBoyz plan to open a facility in Akron that will feature everything from a nightclub to a barbershop and tattoo parlor.
