COLUMBUS -- A Lake County family hopes a new bill signed Thursday by Gov. Bob Taft will help keep other children safe after they lost their son, NewsChannel5 reported. The proposed law is called Greyson's Law.Eight-year-old Greyson Yoe was electrocuted two years ago while standing in line for a bumper car ride at the Lake County Fair.The new law sets safety standards on ride owners and fines them $5,000 if they don't comply.It goes into effect Friday.A wiring problem with the ride was determined to be the cause of Greyson's death.The electrician in charge of the ride was convicted in the boy's death last year.
