Officer Loses Leg When Hit By Pickup Truck In April

CLEVELAND -- A fundraiser is being held Tuesday for a Middleburg Heights police officer severely injured while on the job, reported NewsChannel5. In April, Ryan Nagy was hit by a pickup truck on Interstate 71 after he had pulled someone over for a traffic violation, and was pinned between the truck and his cruiser.
SLIDESHOW: Officer Released From Hospital He lost his leg in the accident, and was released from the hospital earlier this month after spending six weeks there.To help offset medical costs, 12 area Applebee's restaurants will donate 15 percent of Tuesday's total sales to the family.The goal is to raise $10,000.Many stores will also be holding in-store raffles and more during this one-day event.
