AKRON, Ohio -- Officials at the Akron-Canton Airport said a man tried to go through a security checkpoint with a loaded gun Tuesday morning, NewsChannel5 reported.

The man told officials he forgot he had a weapon in his carry-on luggage.

A spokesman for the airport said the man had a concealed weapons permit from Florida.

He was apprehended at the gate screening location, WEWS reported.

The Transportation Security Administration is investigating the incident.
