Officer Wants To Return To Work After Losing Leg On Job
Nagy Pinned Between 2 Vehicles

CLEVELAND -- After 52 days in the hospital and losing his leg, Middleburg Heights police Officer Ryan Nagy wants to get back to work.
Nagy, 30, appeared with his wife Wednesday as he was being released from MetroHealth Medical Center. The father of two thanked the EMTs and all the people that came together to save his life, NewsChannel5 reported. Nagy suffered severe injuries April 11 after he was struck by a pickup truck on the side of Interstate 71, where he had stopped to issue a traffic citation.

Now he says he has a lot of living and serving to do. "I just want to get back and be able to put on that uniform every day and become what I've always wanted to. Almost nine years, it's what I have been doing. I love my job and I just want to get back to it," Nagy said. He is still recovering from multiple fractures to his left leg and back.
