Former Quadriplegic Says Faith Healer Cured Him

Man Says 85 Percent Muscle Use Has Returned After Sessions

POSTED: 6:52 pm EST March 29, 2005

NewsChannel5 is continuing to learn of people who claim they have been partially or totally healed by Dr. Issam Nemeh, a local doctor turned faith healer.

NewsChannel5's Ted Henry reported on a local man who was a quadriplegic, but after healing sessions with Nemeh, he is making a remarkable recovery.

Four years ago, Daniel Stanchu was in a car accident. The accident left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Stanchu says his original doctors are in disbelief: "They don't believe it, they just don't know what to say."

Stanchu's current doctor, Olga Kovasaavich, is a bit more philosophical.

"We know that science helps people, but beyond that science we also have that additional element of believing in prayer," said Kovasaavich.

NewsChannel5's media partner, MSNBC, also covered the story of Stanchu.

Stanchu still does rehab all the time, and he still visits Nemeh.

But incredibly, he regrets none of his misfortune.

"I've met people that I would have never met, Dr. Nemeh, he's a great man," said Stanchu. "And I always tell people, that as long as I know I am going to eventually be completely healed, I don't think I would ever change this."

Nemeh's next healing mass and faith service is Sunday, April 3 at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center.

The service begins at 11 a.m. and admission is free.
