CLEVELAND -- Closings arguments wrapped up Friday in the Daniel Hines attempted rape trial, and his fate is now in the hands of a jury. Hines is the man who was acquitted in December in the kidnapping and murder of 11-year-old Shakira Johnson.The current trial is an unrelated case involving the alleged attempted rape of his 13-year-old cousin.Prosecutors contend he attacked and attempted to rape the girl, and then attacked her brother when he tried to intervene.Hines took the stand in his own defense Thursday, denying allegations that he used a knife, VCR and crowbar as weapons against his relatives.Hines' attorneys claim that Hines wasn't at the home the day of the alleged attempted rape in July 2003.
