Arica Heimlich, the mother of the Aiden Stein, a 16-month-old who has been on life support for several months, went before the court today to turn over custody to the paternal grandmother, Dawn Mansfield.

Mansfield believes that the child should remain on life support. He has been on life support since March 2004.

Aiden’s father, Matthew Stein, is accused of shaking him, causing his condition. Doctors have diagnosed Aiden with Shaken Baby Syndrome.
