DISCUSSION: Share Your Story The school board voted last week not to renew Howard's contract, which caused quite a stir among student population. District officials said Howard's most recent evaluation faulted him for being deficient in various areas. Howard says the evaluation is his first negative review in a 20-year career. Students participated in a walkout last week to protest the firing, which caused controversy after police stepped in, allegedly using pepper spray to control the crowd.
