Canton Woman Says Faith Healing Relieved Her Chronic Pain

Woman With Rare Cancer Attended Dr. Nemeh's Healing Service

UPDATED: 5:37 am EST March 15, 2005

Many northeast Ohio residents say they have been healed by faith healer Dr. Issam Nemeh. Now another woman has added her story to that list. The Canton woman told NewsChannel5 that she was healed in a Sunday night healing service at a Garfield Heights church.

Linda Scarletto said she has taken medication for chronic back pain every morning for the past six years, but didn't take any Monday morning.

That's because on Sunday, she drove to St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for a healing, and she says she received it.

"He just leaned over top of me and reached over and put his hands on my spine exactly where I've got this terrible pain," said Scarletto.

Scarletto has a rare form of blood cancer, and six years ago a tumor burst in her back, resulting in chronic nerve pain.

Her kidneys have also been damaged by chemotherapy. But she said it was the back pain that was on her mind when she walked into the church.

She says that the pain isn't completely gone, but is greatly relieved.

"I just feel so incredibly blessed that God has done this for me through this man and his healing team," said Scarletto.

Almost 10,000 people showed up at the service Sunday, but about 7,000 of them weren't able to get in the doors before the service ended.

Nemeh and his team are holding two additional services for those who showed up but were unable to see the healer.

The services will take place Monday and Saturday nights, from 9 p.m. to midnight, at St. Bernadette Church on Clague Road in Westlake.

Only those holding tickets from Sunday's service will be able to attend.

The next service that is open to the public will take place on April 3 at St. Ignatius High School.
