Legislation Will Address Safety Conditions At Fairgrounds

Boy, 8, Electrocuted At Lake County Fair

POSTED: 3:22 pm EST February 11, 2005

New legislation will be introduced Monday to address the lack of safety conditions that led to a boy's death at the Lake County Fair two summers ago.

Eight-year-old Greyson Yoe was electrocuted while standing in line for the fair's bumper cars.

A wiring problem with the ride was determined to be the cause.

The electrician in charge of the ride was convicted in the boy's death last year.
