CLEVELAND -- A 22-year-old Avon Lake woman had a horrifying experience when she was kidnapped by two men while visiting Ohio University. NewsChannel5's Joe Pagonakis reported that Kristen Wisler thought several times that her abductors would kill her, but she says her faith and calm attitude saved her life.Wisler, a student at Bowling Green State University, decided to visit a friend at Ohio University during her school break. She was on the campus, in Athens, when her abductors struck.Police said 36-year-old Scott Stevens kidnapped Wisler and drove her around for six hours. Robert Norris, also 36, was in the car as well, and threatened Wisler's life several times, police said.Wisler said the two men were drinking and smoking crack during the ordeal, and the car nearly crashed.Wisler was able to repeatedly push "send" on her cell phone so police could track her kidnappers.Police said the men finally released Wisler near Zanesville, about 100 miles from Athens.Norris and Stevens have been charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping.Police say Wisler's quick thinking and repeated signaling with her cell phone likely saved her life.
