CLEVELAND -- Playboy's playmate of the year went on trial for allegedly assaulting another woman at a nightclub, NewsChannel5 reported.

Carmella DeCesare is accused of assaulting Kristen Hine, the ex-girlfriend of Cleveland Browns quarterback Jeff Garcia.

Hine's attorney said his client is a college-educated woman who isn't a troublemaker. He added that DeCesare is a party girl playboy bunny who went into a jealous rage when she saw Hine at a nightclub.

Garcia was reportedly out with the reigning Playboy playmate of the year, when they were confronted Aug. 21 by his ex-girlfriend in a nightclub.

Hine, 32, of Cleveland, who previously dated Garcia, told police that DeCesare "launched" herself at Hine three times.

When Hine turned to leave, she said, DeCesare kicked her in the head. Hines said she suffered serious neck injuries.

Hine said that it all started with phone calls.

"I know what you look like. I know the places you go. My friends know who you are and we will come find you," Hine testified of what DeCesare said to her.

DeCesare has not taken the stand yet.

Magistrate Lynn Loritts issued a temporary protective order, barring DeCesare from having any contact with Hine.

DeCesare, who works as a model, denies being the aggressor. Her lawyer said Garcia and several companions are prepared to back up her story.
