Judge Reinstates Daniel Hines' Bond
Hines Still Faces Unrelated Sexual Assault Charge

CLEVELAND -- Attorneys for Daniel Hines were in court Monday, trying to get their client's bond reinstated, reported NewsChannel5. The judge set bond at $100,000 for the man acquitted Sunday in the kidnapping and murder of 11-year-old Shakira Johnson.The bond stems from an unrelated charge, in which Hines is accused of the attempted rape of his 13-year-old cousin.
SLIDESHOW: Hines Verdict In order to get out of jail, Hines must come up with 10 percent of the bond or show that he has equity equal to the amount of the bond. His attorneys say that Hines probably will not be able to leave jail in the immediate future.
His attorneys are also trying to come up with a security arrangement for Hines for when he does leave jail. Meanwhile, Scherher Shearer, the juror foreperson, read a statement for NewsChannel5 on the jurors reached the decision. (See Video) Shearer said given the testimony and evidence and armed with the definition we deliberated prayerfully and diligently and came to this collective decision."We took an oath to listen to all the facts and weighed the evidence knowing it was circumstantial. We followed the instructions during deliberations. We wanted to make sure we understood our charge and the legal definition of reasonable doubt which is why we asked for that definition to be read back to us."
