CLEVELAND -- Police want to know if the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Voter Fund tried to use crack cocaine in exchange for voter registrations, NewsChannel5 reported. Definance police arrest Chad Staton, 22, after he told them he accepted crack for submitting phony registration forms.Staton said he was paid by Thaddeus Jackson, a person associated with the NAACP National Voter Fund.The forms wound up in the hands of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, who distributed them to election boards in other counties.George Forbes, head of the Cleveland Chapter of the NAACP, issued a statement about the allegations."The NAACP National Voter Fund is not affiliated with the NAACP in Cleveland. Thaddeus J. Jackson is associated with the voter fund, but the voter fund is a separate organization and is not in any way affiliated with the Cleveland chapter of NAACP."
