CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland Islamic leader convicted of lying on his citizenship application officially appealed his conviction Tuesday, reported NewsChannel5. Imam Fwaz Damra filed the appeal papers with the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.A federal jury in Akron convicted Damra of lying about connections with terrorist organizations on his application for U.S. citizenship a decade ago.Last week, a judge sentenced him to two months in prison and four months of house arrest.
