The owner of an amusement ride company was sentenced to six months in jail Monday in connection with the electrocution death of an 8-year-old boy, reported NewsChannel5.

Eugene Chaffee, 48, pleaded guilty last month to involuntary manslaughter. He was accused of indirectly causing the death of Greyson Yoe last summer at the Lake County Fair.

Yoe was in line for a bumper car ride last August, holding on to a metal rail enclosing the ride, when he received the electric surge through his body. The ride was found to be improperly grounded, which caused the electrocution.

Chaffee was also sentenced to two years probation and was ordered to have no future involvement with carnivals.

Last week, an 81-year-old electrician in charge of the fair was also sentenced in connection with Yoe's death. Nick Rock was given 30 days in jail and 200 hours of community service.

Two state inspectors and a fair worker have also been charged and are awaiting trial.
