NewsChannel5 reports that those involved in the escort service have been offered misdemeanors instead of felonies. They would have to plead guilty. The escorts, the call girls and the limousine drivers who transported the call girls are expected to plead guilty to engaging in prostitution. It's been reported that the case involves high-ranking Summit County officials and prominent people in northeast Ohio.
Last month, a report on the case was released, but the names were not included.
One attorney, Mary Margaret Rowland, finds the deal hard to refuse. She is defending an escort who has already pleaded guilty. WEWS says that the client would have an opportunity to withdraw her plea.
There are also two police officers involved in the case. One wants charges reduced to dereliction of duty and the other wants a special prosecutor appointed to the case.
