California Body Is Not Missing Cleveland Teen

Mom Relieved

POSTED: 8:29 am EST March 5, 2004

It was bittersweet news for a Cleveland mother whose daughter has been missing for almost a year.

Amanda Berry Forensic tests revealed a body found in California is not that of 17-year-old Amanda Berry. She went missing while walking home from work at a Burger King on Lorain Road last April.

Investigators said a body found in California had many physical similarities to Berry. But when dental records were examined, it was not her.

"It was a great relief when they contacted me. Thank God it was not Amanda Berry. That means my child is still out there somewhere," Berry's mom, Louwana Miller, said.

Her family reminds people to contact Cleveland Police or the FBI if they have information.
