CLEVELAND -- Two Shaker Heights sisters are accused of spiking their mother's V8 juice with a disinfectant cleaner.
A troubling phone call to Shaker Heights police came from a mother shaking with rage. Mom: "One of the kids put Pinesol in my fruit punch and I was just about to drink it," she said to a 911 dispatcher. "I'm blind. One of them put Pinesol in my drink and I'm about to make them drink it." Dispatcher: "You don't want to do that." Mom: "Oh yeah, I do Oh yeah, I do. Cuyahoga County prosecutors said the girls -- ages 12 and 13 -- apparently were mad at their parents after being disciplined last Thursday."They definitely knew how dangerous it could be. That was specifically asked by the Shaker police officers on the scene. Whether they had the intent to commit murder remains to be seen," said assistant prosecutor Carmen Naso. Later that day, their blind, 40-year-old mother asked the 12-year-old to bring her a bottle of juice from the refrigerator. The mother took a sip before noticing a strong chemical odor. She then called 911, fearing she had been poisoned. The 13-year-old is in juvenile detention and the 12-year-old is in the custody of Children's Services. Both girls face juvenile delinquency charges of felonious assault, contaminating substances for human consumption or use and domestic violence.
