3 Indictments Handed Down In Fair Electrocution

Family Planning To File Civil Lawsuit

POSTED: 12:18 pm EST January 16, 2004

Greyson Yoe was killed last summer at the Lake County Fair while standing in line for a ride and today charges are being filed in connection with his death, NewsChannel5 reported.

Two Ohio state inspectors have been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide. They pleaded not guilty in court Friday morning.

They were assigned to inspect the ride that electrocuted Yoe. He was standing in line at the Lake County Fair in August when he was electrocuted.

Other indictments are expected to be handed down in the case, WEWS reported.

The fair's board electrician is also charged in connection with the death.

"We don't want this to happen to anybody, none of us in this room would like to go to a county fair and have this happen," said William Yoe, Yoe's father. "We want to get to the bottom of this and deal with that."

Two other indictments are expected to be handed down next week.

The Yoe family attorney told WEWS that he is preparing to file a civil lawsuit in the matter after the criminal portion of the case concludes.
