CLEVELAND -- An eye surgery previously thought unsuitable for children is now said to be a safe option in some cases.
NewsChannel5's Connecting With Kids reported that researchers now say LASIK eye surgery can help children who are nearsighted, or have the condition known as "lazy eye."
Researchers stress that only a small percentage of children should ever be considered for the surgery, because most people's eyesight continues to change until adulthood.
LASIK surgery can be used when conventional treatments for lazy eye have failed.
LASIK surgery is a procedure commonly performed on adults.
