PLAIN CITY, Ohio -- A Madison County father is accused of killing his infant son.
Ronald Stollings, 21, is charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of his 2-month-old son, Devin. His bond was set Monday at $100,000.Authorities said Stollings was watching three children, including his son, Friday afternoon at a Plain City home. When Devin's mother returned home, the infant was not breathing. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The preliminary autopsy report indicated the cause of death as shaken baby syndrome.Authorities said Stollings was the only adult in the house with the child, which they say may be a violation of an ongoing investigation in Franklin County. Prosecutors said Stollings has a violent history, including a recent domestic violence conviction. Prosecutors also are reviewing the voluntary manslaughter charge, as it could be changed to murder.Authorities are questioning the baby's mother about why Stollings was left alone with Devin. There are no other suspects in the case.Authorities said this was the first homicide in Plain City since the 1800s.
