CLEVELAND -- It's closing in on three weeks since Shakira Johnson, 11, disappeared from a block party near her home, and police believe someone the girl knows is responsible for her apparent abduction.
NewsChannel5's Paul Kiska reported that Robert Hawk, of the Cleveland FBI, said that agents continue to track down several leads. Investigators strongly believe Shakira knows her apparent abductor because loved ones said Shakira knows not to get into a stranger's car. The girl's mother, Alisa Randle (pictured, right), said she has racked her brain to think of who it may be. "Me and the police -- he said it has to be someone you know, but I can't think of no one," she said.
There are no other major developments in the case. Police said they will continue to follow up on any tips and try to find Shakira. The 11-year-old is about 4 feet 7 inches tall and 70 pounds. She has light brown eyes, and her sandy brown hair was in a ponytail when she disappeared. Crime Stoppers is offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to where Shakira might be. Call (216) 252-7463 with information regarding the girl's disappearance.
