SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Point thrill seekers were caught on home video after power went out at the amusement park by an 11-year-old videographer, NewsChannel5 reported.
Adam Zapotechne shot home video of people trapped on the hill of Magnum XL 2000 after Thursday's blackout.Rides such as the Corkscrew were left frozen with petrified riders forced to catwalk their way to safety.
"A lot of people were screaming. Everyone was on the cell phone," Adam said.Zapotechne added: "They were confused. They didn't know what was going on. The roller coaster stuck on the hill. They looked up and screamed, people were crying, coming down from the stuck roller coaster on the hill."Long lines could be found everywhere. Park-goers had to endure the heat as they waited for bottled water.Zapotechne's brother, Kyle, also witnessed the confusion."Lots of people were in lines for refunds, trying to get refunds and get out," he said. Some riders even were forced to use the park's main fountain to keep cool."I don't think I've seen anything like this before," Adam said. "I usually tape normal things around the house."
