One Person Listed In Critical Condition

UPDATED: 6:56 am EDT June 15, 2003

Two people were taken to a local hospital after reportedly being struck by lightning Friday afternoon.

The incident happened at about 4 p.m. at a pay-to-fish area at Clearwater Lake near Groveport.

Police said two men were under a tree when both were struck by lightning. A man in his mid-20s was taken to Grant Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Another male was taken to Mount Carmel East in stable condition.

A fisherman said a downpour had passed, and that when he looked toward where the two anglers were sitting, he saw them laying on the ground. The fisherman said one of the anglers' hair was severely burned.
