Man Arrested After Using Racial Slurs In Bar And Calling Officer 'Piss Ant'

LORAIN, Ohio -- A 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with yelling racial slurs and attempting to attack police, officials said.Lowell Holbrook, of Vermilion, was arrested for intimidation, assault, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and ethnic intimidation in connection with an incident at Gils International Lodge early Saturday morning.Marcus Shannon, a bouncer at Gils International, told police that he threw Holbrook out of the bar when he got violent in order to avoid a fight.Holbrook also used racial slurs to describe the people in the bar.Police said Holbrook kept trying to intimidate patrons by saying "he was their daddy" and he would beat them up.Police said a fight broke out when Holbrook took a fighting stance and punched Shannon in the face. Holbrook was pushed and he struck his head against a metal porch light causing a cut over his eye.After Holbrook was arrested, he kicked a member of the emergency crew while in the back of the ambulance.Police said Holbrook smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.
