Troopers: Chase Begins After Man Calls About Bomb

Police Use Spike Strips To Stop Chase On I-71

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a police chase in Summit and Medina counties.

The chase started in Richfield Monday morning and ended at Interstate 71 and Route 18 in Medina.

Troopers said 31-year-old William Nickerson of Canfield called police with a tip about a bomb. Officers met him, but said his behavior was suspicious.

That's when they said Nickerson drove off.

Officers used spike strips more than once to blow out the his tires.

Nickerson was arrested.
