Teacher Indicted On 30 Counts In Credit Card Theft Case

CLEVELAND -- An Avon Middle School art teacher was indicted Wednesday on 30 charges stemming from using stolen credit cards to buy merchandise.Charges against Anne Maiden include theft, forgery, criminal damaging, receiving stolen property, misuse of credit cards and possession of criminal tools.Authorities said the charges were brought against Maiden after an investigation of four separate cases in which cars were broken into and items stolen.Three of the cases involved car break-ins in the Metroparks. A fourth case involved a car break-in at the Pleasant Lake Villas in Parma.Police said the stolen credit cards were used to make thousands of dollars in purchases at various stores around the Cleveland area.Maiden's arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 1.
