CLEVELAND -- The city of Cleveland is offering free metered parking downtown on Black Friday to encourage people to come down and enjoy what the area has to offer.

City officials are hoping people will come to do some holiday shopping, take a stroll or grab a bit to eat and one of the restaurants.

Metered parking is always free on Thanksgiving.

Officials said the same legislation that set up free parking on Black Friday also has set up free parking on the day after Christmas.
