VERMILION, Ohio -- A man was found shot to death Wednesday inside his Vermilion home and police said at this point they don't completely understand what happened.

Police will not positively identify the man, but the home along North Ridge Road is owned by Jeremy and Julene Simko, who run a local tree service company.

Police said they received a call around 6 a.m. reporting an injury from a gunshot wound. When they arrived on the scene, they found a man in an upstairs bedroom.

Paramedics tried to revive him but could not.

Police said the death is suspicious because they're not convinced the shooting took place where the body was found.

A woman in the home was taken to the hospital, but police said she is OK. Police said she was interviewed but wouldn't say whether she was a suspect.
