Police in Parma arrested three adults believed to be connected to thefts in at least two states

A man, two women and two children, ages 8 and 10, were taken into custody Tuesday after allegedly being involved in a robbery at a Macy's store, located on West Ridgewood.

Police said the juveniles entered the store with 34-year-old Amina Frye and shoplifted items before attempting to exit the store.

Store security confronted them and a physical altercation ensued during attempts to detain the suspects, police said.

Police said at this point 64-year-old Diana Burton and her son, 37-year-old Donald Burton, became involved in the altercation. Police said Donald Burton punched a security guard in the face.

Police said the suspects left the store and got into a Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois plates but Parma police were able to catch up with them before they could leave.

Police said the found numerous credit cards, gift cards, receipts and what is believed to be stolen property inside the vehicle.

The credit cards had been used in both the Cleveland and Chicago areas, police said.

The children are in the custody of family services.
