A water main break caused water to shoot into the air about 30 feet in Cleveland Heights Wednesday morning.

The water main happened in front of the BP gas station located at the intersection of Coventry and Mayfield roads.

NewsChannel5 learned that a construction company working to replace concrete around a watermain valve caused a weakened 24-inch main to burst.

Water has been shut off in the area until the valve can be replaced.

At one point, traffic was down to one lane in the westbound direction.
