'Save Ohio Libraries' Rally Scheduled

UPDATED: 1:57 pm EDT June 23, 2009

Protestors have scheduled a rally for Wednesday after Gov. Ted Strickland announced his proposal Monday to cut millions in library funds for Ohio.

Organizers said the $227 million in cuts from the Public Library Fund will close libraries throughout the state or force the reduction of library services.

They said this is a time when people are relying on libraries more than ever to help with job searches, education and free internet services.

The rally and press conference will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the steps of the Cleveland Public Library Main Building.
