'Visiting Angels' Take Care Of Aging Parents
Workers Do Light Housework, Cook, Run Errands

CLEVELAND -- As busy baby boomers age, so do their parents, so a little help can go a long way in making sure parents or grandparents get the care they need, according to this week's Successful Aging report.
Visiting Angels are making a difference in taking care of aging parents.
After 59 years of marriage, Lester and Jean Mills easily finish each other's sentences and still make each other laugh. They are, however, slowing down.
The Millses use Visiting Angels to help with light housekeeping, medical reminders and preparing dinner. Their angel is named Mary.
Mary also helps with personal care if needed and runs errands, like shopping or banking.
"(Mary) takes her shopping, plays bingo with her, plays cards, reads a book," said Connie Hill, Visiting Angels' managing director.
Hill added that senior citizens usually want to stay in their own homes because they are usually paid off.
The Millses don't know what they would do without their Visiting Angel.
"We wouldn't be able to exist," said Lester Mills. "We wouldn't live as well -- or eat as well."
Jean Mills added: "I don't know how I would do without them. Our lifestyle would be a lot different. I can hardly stand up to fix anything for him."
