CARLISLE TOWNSHIP -- A deer darting through traffic on Lagrange Road caused havoc Saturday afternoon in Lorain County, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol report.James Cox Jr., was driving his 2007 Toyota Prius north on Lagrange Road when he struck a deer.The deer bounced off his vehicle and into the southbound lane where it struck a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Brian G. Rogers of Elyria, police said.The impact knocked Rogers off his motorcycle and onto the roadway and into the path of a 2001 Ford Explorer being driven by Tim. J. Kader, who was driving north on Lagrange. Rogers motorcycle continued southeast and was hit by Michele Kennedy Diaz, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Stratus.Rogers, who was not wearing a helmet, died on the scene, according to police.Cox suffered minor injuries and was taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital. The other drivers involved in the accident were not injured.The deer that was initially struck could not be located, troopers said. Troopers continue to investigate the incident.
