A quick stop at a local restaurant Friday night left a family without its dog, police said

The family is offering a $500 reward for the return of the 3-year-old yellow Lab named Lilly. Lilly is yellow with white around her neck and stomach. She weighs about 70 pounds and was wearing a red cloth collar with tags.

Lilly's owner went into Quaker Steak and Lube in Vermilion at about 11:30 p.m. Friday to drop something off. When he returned to his truck five minutes later, Lilly was missing, police said.

An unknown person had entered the vehicle, untied Lilly and taken off.
