FBI Investigates 2 Stark Co. Bank Robberies

CANTON, Ohio -- FBI agents and police are investigating two bank robberies that took place in Stark County on Thursday.The first robbery occurred around 11:40 a.m. at the First Merit Bank on 30th Street N.W. in Canton.The robber handed the teller a note demanding money and fled on foot after receiving cash. He is described as a white man, about 30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall with a slender build.The second robbery took place around 12:20 p.m. at the National City Bank on Portage Street N.W. in North Canton.The robber also presented a note and then fled westbound on Portage Avenue. He is described as a white man about 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender build.Anyone with information on either bank robbery should contact Canton police, Jackson Township police or the FBI.
