Officials in Hudson say they now know what was causing the strong smell of gas to waft through the city earlier on Friday.

Hudson officials said they were told by by Boston Heights officials that a company there was burning off oils, which created the odor.

The gas smell was strong, but not toxic, officials said.

The odor was first noticed in the northwest section of the city along Boston Mills Road. The smell has now begun to dissipate, officials said.
