Westlake Neighborhood Evacuated
Police Investigated Possible Explosive Materials

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Just before 6 p.m. Friday, Westlake police responded to a home on Taylors Mill Turn.Police said that they were called to the residence for a domestic dispute, but that while they were there, they discovered possbile explosive materials in the house.Police evacuated some of the neighboring homes as a precaution.The Westshore Enforcement Bureau's Hazardous Devices Unit was at the scene investigating.Westlake police said that at least 9 devices were located in the home.An adult female was arrested on drug paraphernalia charges and a juvenile female was removed from the house and turned over to her parents without charges.Police said that the devices will be removed to a remote location and detonated at a later time.The street was re-opened after 10 p.m.The RTA Police explosives detection dog assisted with the investigation. The Westlake fire department was staged nearby as a precaution.There were no injuries reported.
