Man Dubbed Mayor Of Whiskey Island Gets Tribute

Street Renamed For Activist

POSTED: 4:58 pm EDT May 3, 2009

A touching tribute was held Saturday for a late local activist dubbed the mayor of Whiskey Island.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and several others city leaders held a ceremony to rename Whiskey Island Drive to Ed Hauser Way.

Hauser fought to preserve green space on Whiskey Island for years.

Hauser died of a heart attack in November at the age of 47.
